Forced Labour in Global Supply Chains, a Short Documentary
To stop forced labour products entering the UK, we need more MPs to join the campaign. 'Made in Italy' will be screened in Parliament on 3rd February 2026 along with a panel discussion moderated by Lord Alton, and with your help we can bring more MPs to the table.
Find how to contact your MP here and send them an email asking them to attend our event, you can use the template below.
Subject: Request for You to Attend Parliamentary Event on Forced Labour in Global Supply Chains
I am writing to you as a constituent to ask you to attend an upcoming Parliamentary documentary screening and roundtable on forced labour in global supply chains, taking place on Tuesday 3 February 2026, from 14:30–16:00, in Committee Room G, UK Parliament.
The event is being held by Baroness Kennedy of the Shaws LT KC, the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute, the APPG on International Law, Justice and Accountability, the APPG on Uyghurs and the APPG on Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery.
In 2026, credible evidence continues to demonstrate the systematic use of forced labour against Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in the Uyghur Region (Xinjiang), as part of a broader campaign of repression by the Chinese state. These practices are deeply embedded in global supply chains, affecting industries ranging from textiles and agriculture to critical minerals and green technologies.
As global governments and businesses grapple with their legal and moral responsibilities, this Parliamentary session will examine the UK’s role in addressing Uyghur forced labour through legislation, trade policy, corporate accountability, and international cooperation.
I would be very grateful if you were able to attend or ensure representation from your office. All parliamentarians can email nina.nutting@int-bar.org to attend.
